Fees

What you see is what you pay.

Registering, watching and bidding are free. You pay fees only when you buy, and the full cost is shown on every lot before you bid.

The fees

  • Buyer's premium: 5% of the hammer price, minimum £250. For example, a £10,000 hammer price attracts a £500 premium, giving £10,500 before any VAT, delivery or other charges shown on the lot.
  • VAT: Any VAT is shown in the lot's price breakdown and on your invoice.
  • Delivery: optional, mainland UK only, quoted per car. You agree the price before you pay for it. Collection by appointment is free.
  • Bidding fee: some lots show a refundable bidding fee. It is deducted from your invoice if you win.
  • Payment: instant pay by bank within 10 minutes of winning an auction (within 24 hours for a car bought from our stock). No card fees.

The total you pay, including any VAT, is shown in the lot's price breakdown before you bid and on your invoice. We do not add a mandatory charge after the sale that is not described on this page or on the lot.

A lot can carry different fee rules. When it does, the lot page and your invoice show the exact figures, and those apply.

Only if something goes wrong

  • If a car won at auction is not paid for within 10 minutes, the sale is cancelled with no fee and the car is offered to the next-highest bidder. For other invoices not paid on time, the sale can be cancelled, or if the car is still available we may reissue the invoice with a £100 late payment fee.
  • Storage charges may apply to cars not collected within 7 days of payment. We tell you the rate first.
